How do I setup a Datadog monitor?
To create a monitor in Datadog, hover over Monitors in the main menu and click New Monitor in the sub-menu. To create a monitor programmatically, see the Datadog API or community maintained libraries. Select a monitor type: Host - Check if one or more hosts are reporting to Datadog.
What can you monitor with Datadog?
Monitoring all of your infrastructure in one place wouldn't be complete without the ability to know when critical changes are occurring. Datadog gives you the ability to create monitors that actively check metrics, integration availability, network endpoints, and more.
How does Datadog monitor work?
Outlier monitors detect when a member of a group (hosts, availability zones, partitions, etc.) is behaving unusually compared to the rest. On each alert evaluation, Datadog checks whether or not all groups are clustered together and exhibiting the same behavior.
How do you create a metric in Datadog?
Creating log-based metrics in Datadog
You can create a log-based metric from your log analytics queries by selecting the Generate new Metric option from your graph. Alternatively, navigate to the Generate Metrics tab of the logs configuration section in the Datadog app to create a new query.
